 I was wondering if I could reduce H 4198 safely to say 30gr. in a 444 marlin Encore pistol shooting 255gr. gc bullets I,m trying to get around 1800 fps. If not any ideas on what powder to try I have some H 335 that might work also but not sure if reduced loads with that is safe either. thanks craig.

Not sure I'd take either powder down that low , if your looking for one to reduce then try H4895 , with a starting load for the 260g bullet it should get you right around 1800 to 1850 out of a pistol length barrel .

Also you may want to give Benchmark a look , along with Reloder 7 and Ramshot's X-terminator .
