I enjoy the show.  It's better that "America's Fattest Butt" or "America's Got No Talent"

Skunk that's down right nasty!

That's what I thought too. But the guy seems to have an affinity towards it. Chugs it down like it's water.

I'm with Tim on this one; Les is more realistic than Bear..doesn't get over $700 for his knife either. I believe Les uses a stock Buck..

Then did you see the one where Stroud was hacking up a dead pronghorn and calling it a deer. He finally caught some fish on that trip, he took a flyrod!

les does realistic survival situations.  He was doing a * just going out for a day* of fly fishing and then its survival mode and taking advantage of what he had with him.  He also never fly fished before.

There are some things surely, that we can learn from each...but "Hollywood" has to creep in to everything on TV. Remember, these guys don't control every scene and feature of the production..

Hello Everyone
I worry about Bear.  Its only a matter of time before his luck runs out.
As we all know he takes ridiculous chances.  Number one rule when your out where help is not available is "Don't take unnecessary chances"
The example he sets for people that don't know the difference could get them injured or worse.

In a true survival situation, I'd much rather hang out with Les than with Bear. Grylls is gonna get someone killed with his ridiculous antics!

He died from coming up behind a sting ray and startling it. You don't startle animals. A few months after he died, the TV in the window of one of the local stores showed a recording of him feeding raw meat to a croc.  Irwin was an idjit.

There is probably more real survival tips in an episode of Gilligans Island then this show .Some of the antics do leave me thinking the bastards mad ! The time he drank his own urine in his Australian outback episode really cracked me up - there was obvious storm clouds brewing on the horizon he was walking towards but it's all done in the name of entertainment , just like his biting the heads of lizards or eating live scorpions . Still I quite like it staged in places or not simply for the obvious displays of his years of military and climbing experience showing in his exploits , beats watching countless repeats of The Nanny .

I stopped watching when he supposedly drank his own urine in the Kalahari desert to survive.  In the first place you could not swallow your own urine without violently throwing up.  If you did succeed in drinking your own urine it would probably kill you or at least disable you and compromise your survival situation as it is full of toxins that your kidneys have already filtered once. What a goof.
