My name is Jake. I live in Pennsylvania about an hour north of Pittsburgh.

I found this site from a link in the http://www.castboolits.gunloads.com forum (which , by the way, I found from http://forum.pafoa.org/ forum. (BTW I go by the same screen name on both of those if you wanna say Hi there) Both of those are great places, and from what I've read so far, this seems to be another to add to the frequent (meaning daily) visit list!

About me... I'm a 9 year Veteran (disabled) of the US Navy Subarine force, 10 years and counting as a Volunteer firefighter, going on 2 years as Township Assistant Deputy Emergency Management Coordinator, I've Been involved with Boy scouts for about 8 years (currently Assistant Scoutmaster of my son's Troop), Recently certified as an NRA Instructor in basic rifle pistol, and shotgun. I go shooting whenever I can, and my favorite hobby (besides Shooting and Boy Scouts) is reloading.

Oh, and I also work 2 jobs...  Yep, I like to keep busy!

Hope I make a few new friends here!
Jake

That would put you not terribly far from my friend Barry who is both north and east of Pittsburg. He reads here daily but just pretty much never posts. I post photos of his kills from time to time that he sends me via our daily e-mails.

Welcome.

Welcome to the internet home of a lot of great people and a few old farts.
I'm on the tail end of my scouting career. Spent a good 20 years as a volunteer in just about every position.

Welcome to GBO, home of some very fine gentlemen and a few instigators  ;)

I have been involved with BSA for about 40 years now.  Training is key and makes the job much easier.  Over the years it seems that parents have become less involved and that just means more work for the leaders.  But I know it is worth it.  Boys change and become strong leaders.
