One for me
« on: March 09, 2009, 02:59:04 AM »
I've always liked the Green River knives; built a few, but they have the habit of disappearing into other hands.  I decided to build one that I'd absolutely keep.  I changed the point design on the Dadley(more pointy) and lengthened the handle to fit modern sized hands.  The 5 inch blade is in 3/32 inch 154CM stainless, the handle scales are stabilized buckeye burl and the trim is copper.  Weighs a whole five ounces.   I call it the belt knife, 'cause like the original Green River's it's perfect for sliding on your belt when just out cruisin'....or anything else for that matter.

Very nice, Joel.  That is a keeper!  They always say the knife you have with you is better that any two you leave home, but that's nicer still.  Good work.

Joel, My first thought was thats more a boot knife than a field knife. Then I realized my everyday carry has almost the same profile on the blade. Of course mine is a custom folder. I just like pocket knives better than belt knives. Regards

Nice looking knife, Joel. I really like the copper with the buckeye burl.
