375 Ruger

I recently loaded some 375 Ruger for a friend of mine for his hawkeye rifle and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this round?  I loaded five rounds each of different charges of IMR4007ssc and this rifle never shot worse than 1.5" groups with any charge.  Two of his best groups all but one shot were touching if not in the same hole.  This rifle only has a 20" barrel but I could not get over how well it was shooting.  Makes me want one.  Anybody ever loaded for this caliber?

thats cool.  I imagine that is quite a womperstomper in a great looking rifle. wish I had one.

what grain bullet?  was the brass hard to get?

More likely a quality of that example of the rifle than the cartridge.  I've got a Savage 111 in .243 that I've had for years and it loves everything I feed it.  I consider a 1" group marginal (and usually my fault) out of that rifle which is saying something for a sporter barreled budget rifle that I haven't even bother to bed the action on.  I've thought about rebarreling it but I figure I'll have a better chance of screwing it up than making it better.

My Savage .223 is the other end of the spectrum.  Haven't found a load yet that it even somewhat likes.  Probably going to have to go to heavier bullets cause about 1.5" is the BEST group from it so far.  This is from a 26" heavy barreled varmint rifle.

John,  we loaded a 300gr Nosler Accubond.

helotaxi,  I believe you are right.  I have a browning in 270wsm that loves factory ammo, but I have yet to find that load it likes.   This 375 Ruger has not had the action bedded as far as I know, it's just a natural shooter.
