Thanks to all our Handi vets.
« on: May 20, 2009, 03:34:53 PM »
We're traveling to Texas for the holiday to see the grand kids, but wanted to say thank you to all our vets on this forum, and all other forums.  I alway like to include vets wives and kids, because many of them "served" as well.  If you have time this weekend, stop by a veterans memorial and say thanks that we can still, (for the time being), live free because of their sacrifice.

Your gratitude is greatly appreciated!  I am currently deployed overseas and have been once before this.  Memorial Day and Veterans Day have always had a different meaning to me after my first combat tour in Iraq.

Thanks, Dinny

God Bless all our Vets, I don't ever take my freedom for granted because it's paid for in blood. The Moving Wall came to my area last summer and it was a very emotional experience.

dinny,
I am with you. The support we receive from everyone is greatly appreciated. I have been over there as well. I came off of active duty and joined the national guard. I will be back over there again early next year. These holidays that people see as a day off work do take on a new meaning. Unforunately this years memorial day will be spent honoring a very close friend that I lost over there about 3 weeks ago. He left behind a wife and three kids. I hope everyone takes the time to think about these things this weekend.

I am headed to the lake for a couple of days of R&R. I hope all of you have a safe and happy weekend. Eat some bbq and drink a couple of beers.

dinny, if you need anything while you are over there please don't hesitate to let me know.

Snakeman,
Many thanks.  I am pretty well-equipped over here.  I hope to be home in 5 1/2 more months to enjoy some BBQ and beer for myself.  :)

Thanks, I will.  I have already collected a few bottles of "something" while I was in Germany, we'll trade.
