Muzzle Loader Barrels: Gone forever?
« on: May 13, 2009, 05:14:11 PM »
I sent my receiver in a month ago (.30-06) for a SS Muzzle Loader and a .232. I filled out H&R's form, complete with credit card number and authorization to proceed. This week I received a quotation for the same amount plus tax (I had authorized any necessary tax) and a requirement to contact them for approval.

I called this am to approve. The CS lady said that the ML barrel is not in production right now. She did not know whether it would resume or not. Since ML is what I want primarily, I told her to hang on to it until she knows.

So, anyone have inside info? Will the ML SS barrel return, or am I out of luck?

Thanks
Chuck

See the sticky in the Huntsman/Sidekick forum, they're working on modernizing the muzzleloader and may have put production on hold until  they make the changes next year. They may also be waiting for the new hammer forge production to begin.

Wow. Next year.

OK, I'd better just get the .232 and decide an alternative for the ML, or borrow again this year.

Oh, and Tim, thanks for the quick reply, nad sorry about the mis-post. I had the centerfire page bookmarked because of my .30-06, and forgot you have differnt pages for the ML.

Remington's track record on MZ's is not too good.

By poor track record, do you mean on delivery times, on quality, on safety?

Sorry, I am rather new to guns, and so don't know the history.

Thanks
