I agree with Swampmans idea to try to get to a well lighted area with witnesses if at all possible.
 They just fired five cops here for beating a fleeing suspect. He was a very bad guy, but he rolled the car several times and was ejected. He was laying on the side of the road comatose. The cops pilled on and beat, kicked and stomped the hell out of a comatose dude. This is not right any kind of way. But the cops do it all the time.
 At times I think there are more out of control cops out there than there are out of control bad guys.

It was common practice for years in the Dallas area for the cops to kick anyone's butt that ran from them.  The runner often puts many lives in danger especially including the cops, which really makes them mad.
