Did not make it out again this year. My cousin went several times, and never even got one to gobble back.

I finally took my 2nd but it took most of the season.  The gobblers didn't come to my calling worth a darn.  I did have a couple strut in a field in front of me for over an hour but I couldn't coax them any closer than about eighty yards.  The ones I killed were with hens that came to my call or at least strolled by.  There also seemed to be fewer turkeys but often there would be two gobblers following one hen.  The ones I took were both about 21 lbs. and had very little fat on them.  One appeared to be a two yr old and the other one three.   I didn't hunt on rainy days and probably hunted a total of seven days.   The ticks were out before I got through also.
