On The Road Again-
« on: April 21, 2009, 07:17:04 AM »
Just wanted to thank ya'll for the friendship I have found here. I'm headed out to parts unknown tomorrow, so I probably won't be posting here very much at all.
Ya'll take care of each other, and watch out for this madman we have in the Oval Office now.

Yes I would agree with that I'm sure Alan knew where he was going even before the year long planned journey began. We'll meet up with him again one day in a better place.

Here again is the note from his sister sent to me on May 20, 2009 the day he passed on to a better place with no suffering.

Dear Bill,
I am Alan's Sister, Debby in Bonifay,FL . Where he has been living, until Mother's Day. He has been in the hospital since last Wed. And he passed away a little over 2 hours ago. Luckily I was able to just log in uder his page where he had it book marked. He thought highly of you, and mentioned you many times, I just wanted to reach out to a few of his friends and let you know.  I should know more about arrangements by thurs or friday. god bless and keep his family in your prayers.

sincerely,
Debby Foster ....Alan Grants sister

Here is the latest from Alan's sister Debby. I think she is going to e-mail me a photo of him to post here as well.

I didn't even think for one moment that he was talking about this.
I thought he was meaning he was going to look for a better place to live or something.
Had several good deals with him.

Dang, lost another friend!

We will meet again someday.
Until then, good by my friend!!!

Dale,

In a few of his last posts, he talked about having recovered from more than one heart attack. Just a guess on my part, but I'll bet his heart failed him. He was a good man based on his posts. I miss him already. RIP TN.

I just spent some time reading his last posts and I also think that is what happened. He was also pretty young. Dale
