Yup even awake or almost so. Haven't had my morning cup of coffee yet.

This forum has always been a major disappointment to me. It's my home state so I set it up long long ago but it sure doesn't get much use but then none of the state forums do really. We've got a LOT of members registered who live here they just aren't real active posters and seldom use this forum when they do post.

I'm here too! Tom & Bill, you know what's good about the forum is when someone posts a new message, I get a notification right away...so that's good!

I bought one of those Marlin .308 Marlin Express rifles, added some XS ghostring sights to it, but still haven't found time to head over to Owl's Hollow to get it zeroed in yet. I bought 100 rounds of Leverovlution ammo for it over at Academy Sports as they seemed to have the best price, but it was still pricey. One thing I don't like about it is; Hornady does not sell any flex tip bullets to reloaders, so that's not good at all. If I had known that before I got the rifle, I would never have bought it as I like to load my own.

GB, you still get up to Gadsden to shoot clays any more?
I'm like Almtnman in as much as I've got a 1895 Marlin in 45/70 that I haven't sighted in proper yet. When I get all the gear together and installed I'll holler at yah to let you know when I'm heading up there to shoot. Maybe Mama will let me but a couple extra boxes of ammo.

GB, if you happen to run across anyplace that is selling the .308 160 grain flex tip bullet, let me know as I need to get some for reloading. I sent Hornady an email asking about them and they told me that the only bullets available for reloading right now is the flat nose bullets. The flat nose bullets defeats the accuracy that the flex tip bullets are made for. If it becomes a problem getting them, I will just load a few ballistic tip bullets and have one in the chamber and one in the tube.

newstart2k, I sold my 1895 Marlin 45/70 and bought this new fangled 308 Marlin Express. My old shoulder just wouldn't take the recoil of the 45/70 anymore with the stout reloads I was shooting in it.

I got to flinching so bad last year I have knocked off skeet shooting for now. I'm sure I will get around to it again later this summer but so far this year haven't driven up to the range. I can of course do so any time I just haven't. So sure give me a call and so long as I'm around I can likely meet you there.

On the Hornady Flex Tip bullets like all others right now I'm sure they are in short supply but Hornady has released them for sale as components so they are getting into the system. Misouth Shooter's Supply lists them tho I don't know the stock status. If you look around at all the various bullet supply places you might find someone with them but your chances of finding them until the supply situation gets sorted out isn't that great.
