I sure find it frustrating when someone list an item
in the classifieds then signs off for days or does not
respond to an offer or question and you can see them on line.
OK, I vented and feel better :-\

How do you think the guy who post a sale item feels when he post it and sits around for days waiting for a buyer ?
The beauty of the internet is you can post and read at your own convience .
If ya can see it ya can hit it !

Well I agree with gamehauler. If a guy posts something for sale he should check his add at least daily. thats what I try to do when I post in the classifieds.

If I get tired of wating for action I'll withdraw the item from sale. Regards,

I would think you would stick around for a least
a half hour to see if you got any immediate response.

I am waiting on a response from 3 people right now.
One listed something and signed of immediately
the second is on line and has been active so I know the got my PM
the third is from last night and has been online since and the
last time I looked he was on the thread he post.
I am not saying anything bad about the people and have
not a clue what is going on in their life but if you have time
to list something take the time to follow up.

I agree, you don't plant a garden and then walk away expecting it to take care of it's self. I think Shootall has the reason pegged. No maners or consideration with many folks in todays world.  ::) That behavior is just rude. Regards,

Did you make offers and did you lowball them?? Lowball offer me and I will answer but take my time doing it. I did see a man offer you a heck of a deal on collets (At least $80 retail for $35)and you turned him down then asked for someone to make a you a better deal. Some people are not going to give their stuff away.

Well first on the collets I had someone else that thought they had everything I needed all shipped together  so it was a better deal, he just had to check.
The first one I said I would take at his asking price if it would fit.
The second i said I would buy at his price and PMed with three options for payment along with my address.
The third wanted to trade and I offered to buy out right and asked for a price
now he may be waiting to see if he gets any trades but a response would have been nice to say he wanted to wait before saleing.
So no low balling here.

Some people just don't have time or want to be on the internet every day.
I can see both sides but don't understand letting it bother you.

No you are 100% correct. If you post something for sale, you should monitor your posts. If not, don't waste others time if you can't monitor your for sale items. Myself, if I don't get an answer right away, I move on and find it else where.

I know when I post an item for sale here I tend to check back in an hour because just about every item I've posted here has sold within an hour of being put up.

Thanks for the forum Graybeard.

I have about zero use for eBay now.

Some people are not regulars here but try to post their items on as many such sites as possible. I'm sure many with real low post counts never even come back to check the ads as they likely sell elsewhere and they don't even remember where all they posted them.

Some of our regulars have real world jobs (heck I even used to many many long years ago) and they just can't be checking in at the computer on a regular basis and then some can check in only at work.

For the most part if you have an item that folks have any real interest in and if you price it reasonably it sells pretty fast here as there are a lot of folks who regularly look here to buy things. Chances are if it doesn't sell fairly quickly you are either too high on the price or you just have a really low demand item or even both.

this thread may be aimed at me.. if so i appologise.. now i ll tell something im embarrassed by.. a short while ago ,was the first time i noticed the [my message].. .
still ive put several things on an for one reason or the other not followed up.. i ll try an be careful how i post trades in the future.. as to the gun there now.. ive stated here why its off the market.. i might add no firm acceptance of my price was ever stated.. if that had happened an someone had offered twice the ammount after an verbal agreement was came to.. that gun would have gone to   you any way.. but we were still dickering ..when i got it fixed.. still if i were selling it ,which im not for stated reasons... it would be with the advice not to carry as defence weapon.. 5 times it flunked in my occasional test firing.. that in a yr. an a half..too undependable.. at least for my way of carrying,at the time[in pocket]
again i appologise to those i may have not followed up on.. slim
