What a ride
« on: May 30, 2009, 06:32:49 AM »
I got to go on a ride with my dad for the first time last weekend. He has ridden as long as I can remember and I have ridden for over 30 years. Just never together. We hit the Blue Ridge Parkway for two days and had a blast! If you haven't ridden this road before, you owe it to yourself to do it. Beautiful scenery and great curvy roads to boot. The red/black bike is mine and the white Venture is my dad.

How many miles your dad got on that Venture. Buddy of mine has one similar to your dads that has almost 175 K on it. He told me if it wears out he will get another but it is still going strong except he had to change out a burnt out headlight.   I would luv to get out East to ride those mountains.
Deer hunting is mostly fun then you shoot one and it turns to work.

The BRP is a good ride, so many good roads come off from it too. Hardest thing is keepin' you eyes on the road. Ridin' with your ol' man makes it even better.....hard to believe it took you 30 years.

Deernhog, he has in the neighborhood of 50K on it. Him and my stepmom put 6K on it the first month they had it. It's a Millinium Edition that he bought new in 2000. Only 1500 made and his is #184.

Buck460, you're right about the scenery. As far as the 30 year wait...we are both kicking ourselves for not getting to it sooner. We both have more rides to come together. He's already in his 60's and neither of us plan on wasting any more time.

Yamaha sure makes some fine bikes.  I have a Rodie myself.
