I have to wear light tan colored cotton work shirts (supplied by employer) problem is they are work shirts so we get them dirty working problem is Ive tried useing the pre-treaters with very low success, so far Ive tried useing 100LL avaiation gasoline (best results so far) because of its extremly high evaprative rate if you work with it you now what it is, the next best is useing a vegitable scrub brush and a slury of tide and work it in with the brush and warm water, those pre treating sticks and sprays dont even faze the stains, I follow the direction on the detergent boxes but that power steering goo and old dark motor oil dont seem to be fazed too much.
My cotton tan colored Carheart jackett is another casulity

What works for you??

I spray (saturate) the area with __greased lightning (most any store) and let it set about a day. Then wash.

Oxyclean comes in a spray bottle and powder form and works pretty well. Another would be GOOP paint/ink remover, its solvent based and really made to take paint, ink, and adhesives off of hard surfaces. Most big box stores, wally world, Lowes, etc have it.

I find that what works best for me is to stay away from grease and oils and such. But then being old and retired helps a lot with that.  :o ;D

Maintenance
Hydraulic oil when serviceing nose struts and bleeding brakes (MIL-H-5606)
Motor oil is a tough one, especially used aircraft motor oil (especially black)
Changed the power steering hose on the 03 dodge durango that was nice & messy
changed a bad frost plug block heater on a chevy suburban them darn old model chevy v-8 valve covers are a booger to keep totally dry all the time.
Then working on hydonic heating systems - glycol, soot, stove oil
all the fun stuff I guess

Just rub some go-jo into the spots, let sit for 10-15 minutes, rinse and throw in the washer.

Go Jo, (The hand cleaner).  Rub it in, let it soak a while, then wash.  Must use it while the clothes are dry.  Of course, this is good only for areas, not for the whole garment at once.

I consulted the expert who kept my work clothes looking good during my many years as an oilfield welder. You can't imagine how nasty some of the stuff you get on you in the oilfield is unless you've worked there. She used Spray and Wash and I must say, my work clothes always looked pretty good. No rubbing or scrubbing, just spray it on the bad spots, let it set a couple of minutes and throw 'em in the washing machine.

My wife say's " Wash in Lestoil first then wash again with Simple Green and Tide."
This works on my oil, grease, diesel fuel soiled clothes.
Also uses a little Odor Ban in final wash to get out diesel smell.

Ive tried a batch useing Castrol Superclean, that will stuff draw the bark off a tree.
It just faded the stain but dident remove it. the next load I pretreated useing the Spray & Wash stain stick in conjunction with a good squirt of Dawn concentrated dish soap, run on heavy cotton, soak and extra rinse and still looked looked like a Holstine Cow hide.

This is real complicated, and high tech but it should work very well, although you might not think so. Spray the greasy spot with plain ole WD40, and let soak for a few minutes and then just throw'em in the washer with landry soap.
That's right! WD40. It was good enough for nasa, and will most likely work for you.

WD-40 ......................Hmmmmmm I had contracted a bad case of jock itch in highschool, no amount to ointments and wearing boxers cured it till in desperation a through scrubbing with a mixture of WD-40 and Absorbine horse lineamint cured it.

NASA chemists invented WD40 to keep electrical systems dry, and will also DRY THEM. It's chief ingredient is FISH OIL! :o :o :o It will remove hard to remove stains in clothing, and EVEN SOAP SCUM in  bath tubs and off glass shower doors, removes road tar off cars, without harming the paint and, on and on. It is HARMLESS to us folks, however, the horse liniment seems a little extreme for curing jock itch. Why didn't you just set yourself on fire? ;D

As bad as the jock itch was I was on fire.
Wasent WD-40 originally developed as a moisture displacement treatment by the defence contractor building the redstone rocket the guidence system was being effected by condensation and throwing them off course?
the developers of the treatment loved ther creation so much they went commercial with it.

WD-40 works great short term on .22's as long as you clean them after shooting, if you lube your Marlin model 60 with Aero-sol fish oil it will eventually set up stickey attracting every particle off un-burnt powder and gum your gun same goes for the Ruger 10/22.
