Wideners has Wolf Primers In Stock!!!!
« on: July 16, 2009, 03:59:28 PM »
The Ruskies have upped the price to the US market on their primers, but if you've never shot a Wolf primer, you're in for a treat.  Very consistent, nice.

Better hurry though, they sold all of a HUGE order of SP primers IN ONE DAY!!!!

They are all about $29 plus HAZMAT and shipping.  Hoard away ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)

I bought 15k of the Wolf SP primers last fall. Recently loaded a couple k in the 9mm and .40. I've shot maybe 800-900. Of that lot I've had two misfires on well struck primers. No BIG deal, as it happened in IDPA and USPSA matches. Cost me a couple hundredths of a sec. Wasn't about to win anyway. :D I still have a few k Winchester SP primers. I've been using them for the last 15 yrs without a misfire. Take all that for what it's worth. I got the Wolf primers for $18 per k, so not complaining. (much)

They are out of large rifle primers again. But they lasted for a little over 3 days.
The guy at the local gun shop told me he could get me some but could only get 1000 and would have to charge me $7.50 a hundred. I told him no thanks I would pass.
He said he had reloader 15 that I had been looking for. He wanted $32.00 a pound. I told him I had just bought five pounds on line for $ 22.00 a pound including Has-mat and shipping. He was miffed because I was not supporting local business. This guy was reasonable on his prices before the shortage.
I told him at his prices I would be doing all my buys on line.

Thanks Savage, I've pumped about 7K (7300 to be exact) of Wolfs thru my PT 1911, with no misfires.  I have had several misfires with CCI in auto pistols (maybe 5) out of a bunch, but I wasn't counting, several K.

For all of my critical ammo, I use federal (but I'm down to my last 11k).  Federal works in my 627 V Comp with a 4.5 DA pull. They are the only ones that'll fire with that light a strike.

sharke,
Haven't tried in of the Wolf primers in my 1911s. Misfires are rare in 1911s, as the hammer guns put a lick on the primers! My misfires were with Glocks, both fitted with reduced power striker springs. That could have been part of the problem, even though the primers appeared to be solidly struck. I'll continue to buy and use them as long as I can get them cheaper than Winchester. Federal are about the only reliable primers in DA revolvers with trigger work or spring kits installed. I'd be just as happy with Federal. Just got accustomed to using Winchester due to price and availability in my area. At least we have primers!
