I'm pretty new to the whole T/C scene so here's a little background. I recently purchased a used Pre-G2 Contender with a 14" Mag-Na Port .44Mag barrel and a Leupold 2X scope and a .45/410VR barrel. Now onto my questions:
I've found a new T/C 14" Stainless barrel with the factory brake in 7-30 Waters on clearance for right around $85.00 OTD, so for a deal like that I can't pass it up. I figure Leupold Dual Dovetail Rings and base but what scope? I'm thinking either the Bushnell Elite 3200 Pistol Scope 2-6x 32mm Multi-X Reticle Silver for right around $160.00, Bushnell Trophy Pistol Scope 2-6x 32mm Multi-X Reticle Silver for around $105.00, or the Nikon Encore EER Pistol Scope 2.5-8x 28mm BDC Reticle Silver for around $200.00. Which one would you guys get? Money's kinda tight right now so this stuff is going to be purchased over a period of time, and I work for a FFL so hence the low prices
Also, Which dies have you guys had luck with? I figure a FL die set for re-forming 30-30 cases and for the bullet seater, and then a neck sizer for case life.
I'm hopefully going to go deer hunting for pretty much the first time this year here in Michigan and was contemplating using the 7-30 barrel on my Contender or my recently acquired used Win. M70 25-06, just depends if I can go in the pistol/shotgun zone or the rifle zone.
Any and all help/info will be most greatly appreciated! and I'm sure I'll eventually have more questions once I get all the required items for loading and shooting this beast
Forgot to mention this barrel will be going on my Pre-G2 blued frame. Any issues with this?
Thanks!
Scott
