Got out Saturday with my son and two of my buddies for a p-dog shoot. Started at 10am and didn't stop until after 5pm. The .17HMR sportster recorded the most kills but the .243 handi did well and also.223UV out to 400+ yards. I made 4 out of the hole kills at 300 with the .17. My son had numerous hits out to 200 with all three rifles. I had more fun watching him than shooting.(almost)
My buddies were more than surprised at the overall "handi" performance. They were both shooting 22-250 turnbolts of custom design and couldn't do any better or worse than we did. We ended up with just under 100 dogs, which pleased the rancher who was kind enough to allow us to "help him out" with his p-dog problem.
Live targets are as much fun as paper punchin!
