Rainy Thursday
« on: May 21, 2009, 04:41:01 PM »
Well fella's it has rained almost everyday that I have been off work now for a couple weeks. I got a chance to fish one day last week for about 2 hours. This week looks like there is going to be a lot of TV watching and not much outside time. Dirt roads are so washed out and muddy I have to use 4 wheel drive in places.

Almost ready to buy a bunch of fingerling fish put them in the bath tub and try to catchem. ;D

Mornin CC and all y'all!  Sure is nice to see someone post!  We got more "honorary Jawja Boys" postin here then home grown!   :D

I know what you mean about the rain.   :(  I'm going to have to break down and go to an indoor range just so I can shoot something!  I've got a whole bunch of load work to do on a lot of rifles for next deer season but it looks like this long weekend is a washout, so to speak...  :-\

If I ever do get to go wife Kathie says she'll go with me.   :o   Seems like she has gotten the fishing bug.   Now I don't think the girl has ever held a fishing pole!  But a river runs right past the range I use at River Bend and she decided she will fish while I shoot.   ::)  Knowing wimmin, worms and fish, I can see I will have little uninterrupted range time...  :-\

I know exactly what you mean about wimmin worms and fishing. I got two daughters and I don't think either of them took a single fish off their line until they reached 18. I know for a fact that neither of them have every baited a hook with a worm. My youngest will put a cricket on if no one else is around to do it for her.

When they were little and their mother was still around we would go fishing often. It was a full time job keeping hooks baited, lines untangled and fish taken off. Those were fun times though.

I know what you mean...  :-\  My youngest, actually a step-daughter but I raised her, is over 30 now.  But I got 6 gran-babies that I can be a better Grandaddy to then I was a father to their parents.   :'(   Drives my kids crazy!   ;D

Here we are Thursday a week later, and its still raining.  I over fertilized the grass in my front yard, and its growing over the sidewalk.  I expect it to take over the road and the house before it dries up enough for me to cut it.  I was hoping to have it all done before the weekend so I could go shooting.  Oh Well :-\

A grandparents revenge is watchin the grandkids drive their parents nuts! ;)  Hard not to say, "See what it's like?" ::)  Sorry to hear about all the rain ya'll got.  Still 80 and 19% humidity here in Billings, MT right now.  I can't take the humidity after living here for 30 years.  Glad to see a little chatter back on the board.  Later guys.  DP

I was walking around my yard this evening looking at the grass. I cut it last weekend and it's already half way of my boots. I think somebody is fertilizing my yard at night and laughing at me while I'm trying to keep it cut. :-\ Can't catch any fish cutting grass and cleaning the yard all weekend. I guess I need to buy a couple of goats and let them take care of it. ;D

If you don't want your wife to go along, just do what my oldest brother did
when his wife showed an interest in fishing, he said, okay I'll go dig a bucket of worms so you can practice for the fishing license test.  she never went fishing with him.

We had enough frost early this week to kill the leaves on my lilac bushes and oak saplings. The grass just needed cutting once so far in some places. For the  first time in my life I rented a front tine roto tiller. :o :o Holy smokes, that thing is  s c a r y !! It has two fwd speeds and the lever is not the best marked item. It damn near got away on me twice with tines whirling away.
Sunday is my last day of peace here. The Oulaws from the westcoast are moving into a place not 10 miles away.  ARRRRGH !!!

Oh, it is rainy again !
