45 LC bore size
« on: June 10, 2009, 02:10:19 AM »
i've got an opportunity to swap for a 20" carbine barrel,45 LC,and would like to make it a companion to my 4 5/8" Ruger BH Bisley conversion, the barrel came off a gun with ser # hx....., according to the faq's that makes it a 2007. My trader is telling me tthat he slugged the bore and came up with .454 bore size. I know the 44 mag barrels of old were oversize but don't remember reading about the same situation with the 45 LC....have any of you guys slugged your 45 LC barrels and come up with this oversize bore measurment?

Mine is .4525" in the grooves and .4465" at the lands measured near the muzzle, .0005" tighter just forward of the throat.  ;)
