A Much Better Tool For Cleaning Breech Plug Flame Channels
« on: June 20, 2009, 07:48:47 PM »
Looking for a little more grip on your drill bit? I picked these up the other day, they have the hex quick change on the drill bit. You can use the bit by hand giving your thumb and fingers more purchase, or drop it in the end of a driver and go to town.

This set-up allows us guys with the Knight Disc rifles to pull the bolt and clean the flame channel without having to remove the plug. I can get over 40 shots in a row without a problem, but with this I could clean the channel anytime I would like right on the bench. If you have the channel really crudded up, you can start with the smaller bits and work up to the 1/8".

Notice the relief cut in the hex which makes it less rigid for turning, kind of like a wobbly extension. Excellent item!  ;)

I've been using those for years Busta. They work great for the Savage as well.
