Bushnell Banner Rifle Scope
« on: June 23, 2007, 04:29:25 PM »
Thinking about buying a Bushnell Banner rifle scope 3x9x40 with a "Circle X" recticule for my muzzel loader, it's priced at $80.00. Anyone used this type of scope with good results?

I've not used it, but have several other Banners, great scopes for the money!

I have used banners on everything from heavy recoil slug guns to 223 single shots.  I have never had a problem with them.
It's all a hot mess...........

I have one on my .17HMR, Savage 93 and it is excellent! I've always been impressed with the Banner series and wouldn't hesitate to use one on a "big" rifle. Every Banner I've owned (3 thus far) has been reliable with optics at least as good as some of the bigger, higher cost brands.

The current production Banners are outstanding.  My favorite is the 1.5-4.5X32

I would check the Trophy line - http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?productnumber=115490  - a few bucks more but IMO alot more scope - I have a 1.5-4 circle x banner and had to send it back - only $15 to repair plus postage but ---

+1 on the Trophy. My brother has the Circle-X 3-9 on his MZ, I prefer the standard reticule because the circle border seems too bold or wide and clutters up the view. FWIW
