i started collecting cartridges as a little boy, was aquiring them before i was 5 . used to go to alot of gun shows with dad and grandpa , i'd see loose shells laying around on tables and ask to look at them . gun guys would say you can have that if your interested and it all began . i knew some of those old gun cranks by first name for over 40 years , they'd even find stuff for me and keep to give me when i'd see them at a show . most of them are all long gone . my collection is in the many thousands of single rounds, possibly 10's of thousands . gave up trying to keep track years ago. well over a thousand .22 boxes and lots of others . anything that remotely looked like a cartridge , i collected . rimfire, pinfire, teatfire, inside anvil primed, maynard tape primed, centerfire, shotgun, rifle, pistol , caseless , dummy's, proof's, exposives, tracers, flechette's,blanks ,shotshells, on and on. there's no end to what you can collect . i have rounds from 2m/m on up to 105 m/m , 14 cal. up to .700 nitro . most of the stuff i don't have now, i couldn't afford if i could find it . but every year there's new stuff that comes out and i luck into rare stuff or find something i overlooked . i don't collect as hard as i used to but i always look when i'm at gun shows , flea markets, auctions. collected old bullet moulds and reloading tools for along time but quit and sold all that off. its an interesting hobby .
