Handi rifle barrels

Well there is some new rules out of remington as to haveing barrel work done.
You can no longer send payment with the work request as they will now charge state tax on all parts and work.
Found out the hard way as my handi has been sitting and waiting for them to contact me as to price and how was I going to pay when they already had my check.
I guess it is something new as of 1 June 09  as they waived the tax when they found out my check had been there since 18 May 09.
How about it Tim , can you find out what is going on for everyone else ?

Well, it seems to me the easy way around that is to provide credit card info on the order form, but if they are no longer accepting checks with orders, the order form and the accessory barrel info on the website need to be updated.

I am led to beleive it is the same with credit cards as well.
When I talked to them on the phone this morning I got the impression you had no recourse but to wait untli they called you to find out the cost and authorize it before any work would progress.
Not the worst idea but they need to publish it.

 Just got off the phone With "customer service" about a barrel they said, send the receiver and order form when they get to it they will call with a after tax total to get authorization and payment. according to the fella i spoke to this keeps them from having checks floating around and not knowing which project they go to. I don't know . thought you guys might want to hear the explanation I got .
