Whats your favorite powder for 45acp, 200-230gr JHP

Hard to beat Accurate #5 for versatility with the .45acp, in my opinion.

What are you loading it for? I have an encore .45 acp barrel and load it really hot for the round. 230gr @ 1100-1200 fps!!! Using powerpistol!!! NOT the load you want to use it an auto pistol!!!!

I use alot of surplus aa2 for 45acps and when its all gone ill go back to bullseye.

Bullseye, mostly. Over the years I've used a lot of unique, red dot, and herco. Just got 16# of Alliant Promo this week. Haven't loaded any .45 with it, but did load 30 rds of 9mm to test this weekend.

I'm loading for an auto pistol.  Not much of a pistol cartridge reloader, just looking for a good all around powder to try in my new pistol.

i use 231 in my 45 acp loads....fired from a 1911 Govt model....unique worked too but the 231 meters much better and burns cleaner for me

4.0 grs. of Trail Boss for practice,very easy to load.

I use 231 with my 230g Lead Round Nose projectiles ..   And Bullseye with the 200g XTP bullets ...

 Heres a target rapid fired @ 7 yrds with the 200g hornady XTP loading.

I don't have a 'favorite' .45ACP propellent per se as I haven't loaded that round much, but HS-6 and AA5 would work well.  Of course WW231 has be a long favorite.

Hard to ignore the folks who like Power Pistol.
