Hey Guy
             I shoot 357 Max from 14" Contender. I use IMR 4227 powder. The bullet is cast from RCBS - 180 Grain Silhouette Gas Checked. 19.3 grains IMR 4227. Dead on!!!!! Info from RCBS Cast Bullet Manual. The range here is - 19.0 @ 1433 FPS to 21.0 @ 1603 FPS with this bullet.

                                                   Take Care!!!

:-D IF !!!! you can find Winchester 680.  (check gun shows, and Shotgun News)  Her is the load that I use in  my 10" and the 14";

            Rem. case.  Win Small rifle primer.  Winchester 680, - 24grains , and a 180g Hornady bullet.

          Hornady makes 2 types of 180s     one is a hollow point exclenet on  w.t. deer out to 150 yds. the other is their 180 g . SSP  it's is a pointed bullet made for pistol velosity. and is good on deer to 225 or a bit further. I have taken A deer at 211yds (by the range finder) Yes I held some what high, but I shoot this pistol alot!!!!!

  At 100yds. this will shoot the 10'  1.5"  and in the 14" 1.062 all day long!!!

      Winchester BRING BACK WIN. 680 PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!
Live every day like it was your last, cause someday it will be!!!

357 Max load for contender

Thanks to all for the load info. Yup $20.00. Don't worry, if he had any more barrels they'd be in my hands by now. I may not be the sharpest pencil in the box but  I know a heck of a good buy when it hits me. He had numerous other guns and was a shooter for years so it's not like he didn't know what he had. Sure wish I could run into more like him though. Again thanks all. Peter

I have seen mention of the postal matches but never paid any attention to them. Probably shoot a target and mail it to someone. Smallest group wins.
