never shot a ground hog.......only seen a few

rats  are my varmint  of choise.........
so  here  is  my closest shot story.......not counting  trapped or  cornered

an  extention power cord  went through  the trees  to  my  shop
that  was  how the  RATS  were  getting  in  right  at  sunrise every  day

i  set  up with a ruger sinble six  loaded with  shot shells
saw  one  in  the tree  so leaned against the shop
cocked the gun  and held  the muzzle  one inch  over  and  one inch to the side
and waited
within 2 minutes  a rat  walked in front  of the gun
i  put  the load of shot right behind the left shoulder
the RAT  was launched about  ten  feet

also at  a restaraunt  with leaky  roof i was workin on
there was plastinc on the ceiling
twice  i walked up with shot
and fired from 2 inches straight  up centered between the 4 feet
for some reason  they werent  as memerable  as  the rat on a wire
when drugs are outlawed only out laws will have drugs
DO WHAT EVER IT TAKES TO STOP A DEMOCRAT
OBAMACARE....the biggest tax hike in the  history of mankind
free choice and equality  can't co-exist
AFTER THE LIBYAN COVER-UP... remind any  democrat voters ''they sat and  watched them die''...they  told help to ''stand down''

many statements made here are fiction and are for entertainment purposes only and are in no way to be construed as a description of actual events.
no one is encouraged to do anything dangerous or break any laws.

I had a chipmunk living in a storage room at my house.Couldn't shoot in there without hitting something I did
not want to.(it's also my workshop) Came in from the house to put some tools back and saw the bugger
sitting next to my table saw,Threw a tac hammer at him and killed him drt. maybe 5 feet..
Couldn't do that again in a 1000 trys ..

Actually 47.244" and 12.9921" so you would be correct.

Appears that I "heavy thumbed" those buttons on the unit conversion feature of my cell phone.
Happy Shooting to ya.

I shot 3 of them this month. (so far)  The closest one was at "point blank" range, with a CCI CB long, out of my Colt Woodsman...

Nice, that Colt Woodsman...with your knife & a handful of salt you should be able to survive anywhere with it.

Shot one at about 10 yards with my .223 a few years back. Me and a buddy were sittin on my truck tailgate in the evening overlooking a field, waiting for the 'hogs to come out. I happen to turn and one was standing up just looking at us.

I told my buddy to shoot, he told me to shoot. After a few minutes of this back 'n fourth "you shoot...no you shoot", I gave in and shot it.

The 40 grain V-max just turned him inside out. Literally. It was a spine and some backwards ribs....with other "stuff". Some identifiable, some not.

I like to shoot 'em past 200 yards. More of a challenge.
