Where are Beemans made?
« on: July 01, 2009, 05:23:44 AM »
I have seen some of the Beeman barrel pump rifles that are made in China, and I have heard that they have been made in Germany.  I have a nicely made Beeman P-1 pistol that has only the markings of "Beeman Precision Airguns, Huntington Beach, California 92649 USA" on the side.  The gun is nicely fitted, but even with the rear site down to the lowest setting it shoots a little high, not what I would consider German engineering.  Is this gun made in California or elsewhere?

Thanks.

Beeman does not make airguns. They are a retailer, not a manufacturer. Beeman sells guns from several different makers. The P1 is   made by Weihrauch, model HW45.

I did not know that, I have heard the name Beeman for years and thought it was a maker, like Feinwerkbau, Daisy, or RWS.  Thanks for the headsup on that.

Do you use a 6 o'clock or a center hold?  I have a P1 also and shoot it at 10 meters for bullseye practice. I just looked at my rear sight and it is cranked up really high. But then I use a sub-six hold and have quite a bit of white showing between the front sight and the black.

winman...I think you lost me on some of the terms for handgun holding.  I usually shoot from a bench, if offhand I use a Weaver stance.

Usually in the center of it, if the light or angle is a problem then with the target above the line of site.
