Bakail single shot.............

   I ran into a very nice 12 gauge single shot, Russian bakail at a pawn shot in nice shape for   $ 88.00 It apeared to be a gun that would sell new for easily twice that but I dont know because I generally dont look at shotguns much.
  not sure what choke it had. the lever to  open the action was connected to the trigger gaurd.  There appeared to be a cocked indicator on the top of the barrel. A nice  rib  brought the line of sight to eye level.

Anyone know what these cost new ? Also are they good guns ?

Baikal is an older Russian company making a decent product. They are well built shotguns, rugged, but not pretty or refined. They serve their owners well for many years. Remington's Spartan line is made by them.

  Kinda wish I had snagged this shotgun depending on the choke while I was there and it was available.

You couldn't have gone wrong at that price.  If $88. was the asking price, you might have offered $75. and got it.  Maybe next time.
