Okay guys, here's one for you. I'm fixing to be gone for a week. When I get back on I would like to see some data on two rounds:
.309jdj and .358jdj. in factory TC bbls. rechambered. I know all about GBs published data and have used it with good results. My trouble is that I'm having trouble finding AA2520 and such at anywhere near a fair price. I'm down to trying H-4895 soon. Please don't go off on any tangents as this won't help me out. By the way, the bbls. were orignally 30-30 and 35rem, and I use 150-165gr. in the .309 and 200-225gr. in the .358. Please only serious info.  Thanks in advance, Pat

Pat,

I'm on my 3rd 309JDJ, but the last two were/are SSK Shilen barrels and not rechambers.   But my first one was a TC factory 30-30 barrel rechambered by SSK.   Guess I can see if I still have any of the data for that first one squirreled away some where ??? - otherwise I can only speak for the current barrel(s).   BTW, the one I have been shooting is selling on Ebay right now and will be going to a new home after Sunday, and the newest one hasn't been shot yet.

Regardless, have a great trip and we'll look for you in a week.   :D

Can't help you on the .309 JDJ but I'd sure try 4320 before going to 4895. I think you'll find the burning rate is more appropriate. I tried a bunch of powders and bullets and found nothing even close enough to 2520 and 4320 to bother with. Good luck in your search. Have you considered ordering a large can of 2520? Isn't it available at gun shows in your area?

GB, we have the worst gun shows here that you've ever seen. I drove over to Tallahassee for one, but found none of the favored powders. I don't shoot enough 2520 to justify a large can, although it does work pretty well in my .309. I'll just keep on looking. Thanks,  Pat :(  :(
