Primer condition is a good thing to keep an eye on, but as you noted, it is not always a consistant indicator of pressure. Mike the pressure ring just ahead of the extractor grooe on the cases you fired. They will stay pretty consistant until the pressure goes up too much. If you see .0005 increase, from factory rounds back off a bit.
By the way, I had a few new CCI large rifle primers that took a couple of hits the other day too. I thought it was the rebounding hammer in my 94, but it happened in another gun too with the same batch of primers. I sure hope the primer manufacturers aren't getting careless trying to meet demand.
