Caribou or Bear outfitter?
« on: March 14, 2007, 04:24:31 AM »
I am looking at doing one or the other is 2008 with archery gear. I would like to do a spring bear in Alberta or Saskatchewan. Or Caribou in eastern Canada ( ie. Quebec, NS etc.) I would like to do an all inclusive hunt complete with pickup at the airport. Can anyone recommend an outfitter for either of these? thanks!

For eastern Canadian caribou, try Jack Hume.  Its a topnotch, ethical outfit with years of solid experiance.

I hunted with Jack Hume.  I'll also be going on an archery hunt in Quebec in 2008.  If you'd like specifics drop me a PM and I'll give you my email and phone number.

I think club chambeaux bought out Jack Hume, maybe didn't change the name though. Either way excellent outfitter.

I got back a couple of weeks ago hunting caribou at a Leaf River Lodge camp. Anything they could control Transportation, lodging, food, guide, camp and most everything else was great! The weather which they don’t control wasn’t bad either. But we did have to stay an extra night in Montréal because of the weather.
You may still be able to book a hunt for 2008. But we booked 28 months before we went. You can black bear hunt most anywhere, but Barren Ground Caribou is a different story!
