It put 20% more energy down range than a 5 shot revolver (.38+/-); however, I can only buy shotgun ammo. All centerfire ammo is sold our along with reloading components.

I love the gun & I love the round. If you think you want it, grab it.

I'm not a super-accurate pistol shot, so I can't give you informed feedback on its full accuracy potential. (I shoot pistols for defense-style purposes, i.e. plink, paper targets, and I've shot a few CAS matches where all you hit is a steel plate up close. In my Army career, I shot to hit the silhouette. I always did.)

The Ruger .327 puts its bullets where I point 'em. The cartridge is high pressure and high blast. I bought it for my girls to shoot with .32HRM and .32SWL (with 115g reloads.) It also likes .32 HRM 115g lead loaded to 980 fps. I appreciate its versatility. And it's a Ruger--it's solid.

If you haven't seen the latest brassfetcher.com gelatin tests and the Shooting Times article (late '07, I think) that describes its performance in FBI protocol testing, you may want to take look.

Although my primary personal defense guns are .45LC and .38s with 200g bullets, I have put the .327 in the truck many a time and not felt poorly-armed at all.

Got one , had it for some time now . Ammo is in the stores here now ( not always so ) . It shoots good . Power seems more than 38spl close to 357  .
When Ruger comes out with it in a clr or S&W comes out with an airweight or lighter j frame gun i will need one . ITS JUST THAT GOOD !
If ya can see it ya can hit it !
