Huntsman Frame
« on: July 10, 2009, 07:01:04 AM »
I have questions about a 50 cal Huntsman nickel plated frame.   I bought the ML about 5 years ago and had intensions of putting a rifle barrel on it.  According to the information a Huntsman is a cast alloy frame that is not to be used with rifle barrels such as 308.  Is that correct?

So to use both ML and rifle on one frame the SB2 is the correct frame?  Will the Huntsman barrel fit on an SB2 frame?

If I were to sell or trade the Huntsman nickel plated frame is a FFL required on both ends of sale?  So I need to add the price for FFL's?

Thanks,
Mark

You're correct, the Huntsman frame can only be fitted with muzzleloader or shotgun barrels, (except for some very old models which were muzzleloader only) because it can be fitted with shotgun barrels, all FFL laws apply when transferring ownership since it is a firearm. The Huntsman barrel can be fitted to an SB2 frame, see the barrel fitting info in the FAQs and Help sticky.

rlkr,

quickdtoo covered your questions on your nickel Huntsman SB1 receiver, however FYI there is one Huntsman SB2 receiver that the .243/.50 cal Huntsman Combo came with. These were the blued/wood models though. There were also Huntsman SB1 .50 cal Combo's with 12 ga Tracker II barrel, and 12 ga bead site barrel also blued/wood.
