SAKO 75 & 85 fittings
« on: April 01, 2009, 04:50:21 AM »
Hi

I  have the chance to buy either a 75 or 85 in 270wsm. I have also been offered a mcmillan sporter stock originaly inletted from factory for a 75 action, now question is are the action screws etc in the same place for both rifles as i would like to go with the 85 and have this stock bedded to the 85 action. Is this possible?

Cheers

The action screws are the same on both, but stocks are slightly different but can be made to fit.

Well up here I have seen many 85 models turned back in after being sold new . I hardly ever see a model 75  in the used rack. I think there is an issue with the reciol lug, but no one is willing to confirm this .     So my choice would be grab the model 75 and you would already have a stock to spare.

I have a 75 in 243 I bought off a guy a while back, very slightly used. Some of the 75s had some type of action lock I thought, mine does not. The 75 is nice.

I guess by now Mildot made up his mind.
