:DVman, I am not sure what you will use your 375 for, but I had a fix power on mine for a while. It now supports a 3-9 leupold. The reason is not for shooting at longer ranges, but for picking a good hole through the brush for a good shot. I use mostly vari powered scopes, and usually have them at their highest power. This may not work for most, but with a fixed power or 4 or 6 I could not pick the spot I wanted when hunting in heavy brush. The Leupolds will take it, others I cannot say. You can keep the power down when still hunting, and zoom it up if a shot presents its self and you need to pick a spot to shoot though.
The only thing I would add is I shoot a bit almost everyday, so this is a familiar routine for me. But for my money, fixed powers are a thing of the past. I still have some and use them on specialized rifles, but for a rifle I use under normal hunting conditons, it will be a vari. power.
