.35 Remington Handy........?????
« on: July 08, 2009, 09:29:07 AM »
Hello,  I am new here and was wondering if anyone have attempted or know of someone who has converted a handy rifle to shoot the classic .35Remington. I own a handy ultracomp on .270win and a second barrel chambered for .223Remington. Ultimately I would like another barrel chambered for the .35Rem.  Thanks

Welcome! I have a 357max barrel that I had GBO sponsor Oregunsmithing rechamber to 35 Rem, shoots real good, the 1:18¾" twist isn't ideal, but it shoots 240gr cast bullets accurately at about 2000fps and 200gr cast at ~2200fps even better, I haven't shot jacketed in it yet, but plan to shoot Super 35 Rem loads in it sooner or later.   :D

I'd like to know how the 35 Rem shoots with jacketed bullets. OG owner Wayne is a buddy of mine and reamed my 45 lc to 454 Casull.

It should shoot fine, many, many 357Mag/Max owners owners here will  attest to the accuracy of the 357 barrel. Wayne's been my buddy too for the last 4yrs anyway, he's done a lot of work for me and many others here, I'd just like him to move back to Aurora where he was a LOT closer to me!!  ;D

Just had Wayne York at Oregunsmithing convert my .357 ejector to .35 Remington.
Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet,but it seems to function perfectly.
