Hi William
I know how hot it gets there. I used to live in Beaumont. It reminded me of something funny that happened there years ago.
It was one of those hot humid days and the preachers wife knocked on the front screen door.  Little Bettsie ran to the door (she was only three years old)
to see who it was. The preachers wife said " Bettsie would you please get me a drink of cold water" as Bettsie let her in. Bettsie said "Yes Mam" and shortly appeared with a glass of cold water.  About this time her mother appeared from the back of the house and said hello to the preachers wife. She noticed that she was drinking a glass of water and said where did you get the water?
The preachers wife said "Bettsie got it for me". Bettsie's mom said "Bettsie where did you get that water? you can't reach the faucet.
Bettsie just beamed proudly and said "Out of the toilet mommy"

Another 100+ degree day here in central Texas and the drought continues.  It is just downright oppressive!!!

Broke a record here in the Abilene area yesterday, the offical temp was 105, but the thermoter on my barn read 108.  Too darned hot to do anything except set under the air conditioner...........I noticed on the weather last night that Bill was enjoying a nice cool 88 degree day down on the Texas coast.

It seems like 88 is where we start our day.  I wouldn't mind the heat so much as long as we could get some rain over here.

I don't know where that 88 was, maybe it was Tuesday and Wednesday when we got 5 inches of rain, but this morning at 2AM it was 86. I made me some coffee, turned on the porch fan and enjoyed the COOL.  :-*
Dang it's hot.
Played golf this morning, started at 7 and got thru about 10, Dang it was hot. Now the folks in the know advise not being outside between 3PM and 7PM---
Dang it's hot.
I have too go to my brother-in-laws funeral for his dad this Sunday, out in Marble Falls---I'm going to try and get out too Coopers in Llano for some ribs--it is never too hot to drive too Coopers for ribs.
Dang it's hot.
There was riot scheduled for today but it was put off until cooler weather.
Blessings
