.32 S&W ctge
« on: July 06, 2009, 05:00:46 PM »
I'm looking for a good handload for the venerable .32 S&W. Something mild enough for my 80+ stepdad to use in his old H&R double action.

First off I would have to ask the  age of the gun?  If it is an original black powder gun with some age, I would only load BP in  it.  If itwas made after the introduction of smokeless, then got to this location, it may help:

Just remember to be careful while doing an work with these old guns.
Just another voice in the crowd!!!

By all accounts the gun is a H&R second model small fram top break, third variation. It is marked .32 S&W ctge on the left side of the barrel.

2.1 grains of Bullseye under a 90g cast RN will work well in that gun , another thing you may want to do is give Hodgdon's a call and see if they have any data for Trail Boss in the 32 .

Also 1.2 grains of Win 231 with a 85g cast bullet will a very mild load to shoot in it .
