Good morning,  Montanan, MT_Sourdough, dpe, Southpaw, Forster, Atlaw, pab1, newstart2k, Skunk, kitchawan kid, lurker, CJ, Bilmac, thxmrgarand, Syncerus, Mcwoodduck, Brennemanj83, Old Shooter,TY22, Canon6, burntmuch, Grimjim, CJ, Bilmac, rparsons934 wis_sharpshooter, BBF, Blue Duck, billy_56081, hunt-m-up, Gun Runner, Chilachuck and Lucky Guy.

Currently 59 degrees and overcast right now, nice pleasant weather.

You might wonder why I always post the days weather with the daily greeting.  Well there is this urban myth that Montana is a frozen waste land. while we do have our moments whe it does get a bit cool around here, for the most part or weather is pleasnt all year round.

I like to think of the weather here as incentive weather or productive weather.  Yes it does occasionally get cold here.  That gives you an incentive to stay indoors and get those indoor projects done, and do something productive like redoing a gunstock or loading ammo for Gopher season.  If it was pleasant all year you would have to go outside and mow the lawn or wash the truck. You don't need to do those menial tasks all year. When the weather is nice you need an incentive to get indoors and work on the gunstock or load ammo,  not good when there is gophers to shoot.

Have a great day.

When I was there we were hunting in shirts in the area around great falls but when we headed to the mountains around Hellena it was cold at altitude.
Same in Southern CA in the winter.
I would be in my back yard in shorts with ice in my drink and look at big bear covered in snow.

Good Morning Montana!

Currently 74 degrees with bright sunny skies, very low humidity, and a southern breeze of 14 mph.

I often post the day's weather with the daily greeting because Double D does it. ;) Seriously, there's probably not a person that frequents the Montana forum who could care less how the weather is doing in NE Wisconsin. :D But talking about the weather provides a person a good way to get in there and say hello and it also offers a perfect opportunity to say:

Hope you folks have a great day!
Mike

Skunk, I got up to NE Wisconson once (I think) It was Osh Kosh & the greatest airshow on earth!...Got to see Chuck Yeager up there but did not get to meet him. Many mustangs & corsairs but no one would let me fly one :( I would go up there every year but it is 385mile on the one way. I heard you mention MSfltsim not too long ago, all versions here from 4.0 in 92' or so to X presently.

glanceblamm,

385 miles ain't far up here.  Will get you to the nearest Wal-Mart or clear across the state, as long as you go north south, about half way east west.

glanceblamm,

Pleased to hear you've been to the "greatest air show on earth." Everyone should go see it at least once. That would be a treat to have seen Chuck Yeager. Yeager and the Ace of Aces, Richard Bong (from Wisconsin), have always been a couple of my heroes.

I've had many great hours flying around the world in VatSim using FS95, but one of my favorite flights is with the C-130 Hercules, doing freight deliveries to remote locations in Alaska. One of my favorites is Fairbanks to Barrow. Fairbanks to Point Hope is always fun too. I don't presently have a computer that is powerful enough to utilize the full potential of FS-X, but I'm working on it. Maybe someday we'll meet up in the wild blue yonder at 32,000 feet. :)

Sound reasoning there Skunk!  I never thought about it but I do that also in the Jawja forum.  :-\  Just subconsciously copied a successful format I guess...  ;D

Osh Kosh & the greatest airshow on earth!...

Never been, always wanted to but...  :-[

Supriseingly, the P51 never did much for me...  :-\  But if it came down to a choice between getting to fly an F4U and meeting Gen. Chuck, I'd be grabbing a stick and not a hand!   :D

I've also always been a big fan of the Corsair. It's a fabulous feeling to flame a Zero using the shoot and run technique (not that a P51 wouldn't work just as well). The Zeros didn't have a chance unless you got into a turn fight with them. I used to do Warbirds along with Flight Sim. :D

One thing about the weather it is  a universal topic .  Sort of a "everybody has some" type thing .
sort of like the monday morning quarter backs , a common ground that transcends all economic , race barriers .  I hate sports , weather is a farmers friend /enemy . ;)
Left Handed people are in their right mind .
