Preview-Encore Eye Candy

I wasn't real happy with the wood on my 22 Hornet turkey pistol. So I decided to make a new set for it from this California Black Walnut I had laying around. The wood has great figure and color, loaded with fiddle back that will show after the finish is done. This wood is going to pop! The WV. Plow-Handle grip has a wide round bottom to ride a heel bag. The forearm is flat bottomed to sit a front rest but not to big for field use. It is mounted with a Stratton Custom H-Bar.

Dave is definitely a talented individual, and his prices are REASONABLE! I have a few forends he has made and am thrilled with each of them.

I recently asked if he could match a buttstock I got from another maker, and he was happy to oblige. The forend I originally received with the buttstock was entirely satisfactory, but I knew Dave could make one to fit me even better -- one with my exact specs and tastes in mind. The forend is in the picture below, and I feel he did a terrific job.

Now I just need more Contenders so I can get more forends from Dave... ;D
