44 Mag combo shot bbls
« on: September 02, 2009, 11:40:47 AM »
I have a question for you guys that have used TC contenders for a long time and have shot most calibers. What is your opinion of
the 44 mag bbls with the detachable chokes. How well does the bbl shoot regular 44 loads & does it recoil like the 45 does in the same
configuration being light? I know that it is next to impossible to get the old TC Hot Shot Loads but you can still get capsules and make
your own as well as the normal light loads you can make yourself with wads. Any comments on this would be appreciated. Thanks Fred

Mine shoots factory loads pretty well and the recoil is the same as a standard barrel.  I have never tried to fine tune a load for this barrel as I shoot the capsules in the choked one and have another non-choked version for everything else.

Fredster  make mine out 303 british cases turn rim down and fill full of shot and seal with hot glue gun. at 20 yards it would pepper evenly and penetrate both sides of old steel tin cans.
