Here is a question for you guys interested in the unusual!
« on: July 13, 2009, 10:56:57 PM »
Hello all,
I have recently purchased a falling block actioned rifle that requires an extractor to be made. Made? Yep, someone had taken it out and I would like to find a diagram or info on this rifle so as to copy the extractor.
So what is it? The brand on the barrel is "Spligatis", Model "SBL-85", "Made in Germany", cal is 308.
After many inquiries I now have a lead, it has been suggested that this is a copy of a Frank Dehaas Vault Lock action. I already have some of Dehaas's books but there is a book that Frank had that described four actions that he had as favorites.
Does anyone have any info?

Cheers from Australia,

You want Frank DeHaas Mr. Single Shot's Book of Rifle Plans.  It's listed here, http://www.gunbooksales.com/sshot.htm

A pic of the action you have might help.
