Duraglit , i'm sorry but brass/bronze NEEDS to be polished . and it should always stay polished no exceptions .
i'm sorry ,that is just how it is . believe me when i say i wish it weren't true , but ....it is...!!! and there is nothing i ..or you ,can do about it .
if you wish you 'can' leave an old bronze piece dull and not shiny ....your call .
but for any modern made replicas ........wellll ....you could go to h#ll , maybe not right away but ....it's coming . and when it comes brass hell i have been there ...the condition is terminal....
because Once A Marine ,Always A MARINE ! spent 106 recoilless rifle casing can shine up to where they'll blind you in the sun . i'm not at all sure why it needed to be shinned as it was spent , but it absolutly did .
BUT IT DID . and so do your bronze cannons .
savy ? get to it .
except for my Brookes .30 cal parrot gun as it was smacked into the concrete on it's very first shot . so it is dinged ....and will never be polished out of respect for it's wishes , but these cases are very ,very rare.
but it does happen , please submit any doubtfull candidates to me for evaluation and i will let you know ,DD is every bit as qualified as i am!!!! .
