Fitting a Barsto XD barrel
« on: August 02, 2009, 05:20:22 AM »
Bought a Barsto 357 Sig barrel for My XD40. Unfortunatly no fitting instructions are included and the info on their website is minimal. I first removed metal at the rear of the barrels locking lugs until the barrel would drop into place in the slide. The barrel would not cycle at this point without great effort. Removing metal on top of the chamber end (the exposed part of barrel when slide is in battery) has lessened the problem. The slide binds at the end of its rearward travel and getting it to the slide stop position is very hard. Before I remove more metal ( I have removed alot already) I would like to hear others experiences in fitting these barrels, making sure I am addressing the correct area of the barrel while getting the slide to smoothly cycle. Thank You. ???
