Hello everyone. Just joined and already gonna bug ya. I was out shooting my new stainless frame 7mm Mag last weekend and out of 20 rds I had failure to fire on first strike 3 times. Was using factory Remington ammo. Thought it might be the hammer extention but it wasn't. Anyway, when I compared the frame to my others, I noticed that the hammer had to be pushed the last bit to bottom out on the frame. I backed the overtravel screw out about 1 1/2 rounds and now the hammer falls to the frame without effort. The negative is what feels like excessive trigger overtravel. What gives? Anyone had this happen? Suggest a fix? Thanks.

That 1-1/2 turns seems to be an excessive amount to me. Thats why your getting the creep. Turn it back in about 1 turn and try it again. KN

It takes the full 1 1/2 turns to get the hammer all the way down with out effort. Thanks.

if i understand your dilema correctly it sounds to me like you are not getting contact from your firing pin if this is the case then the frame has a problem don't adjust send it back if i misunderstood then send it back still tc has horrid quality problems though they are still a great company and firearm i wouldn't trade mine for the world but i don't take or buy junk make them fix it right!

Just fishing here but do you have a muzzleloader barrel as well? I had problems with misfires and while talking to a fellow at Fox Ridge about another problem he told me to remove the breech face vis the little hex screw under the firing pin and clean the area and spring really good. I did and have no trouble since. Sean
