Hornady Light Mag 139s best out there. Super accurate in most all guns I've ever heard of them shot in and sub MOA in all I've shot even one rifle that had never shot a group below 1.5" with ANY other ammo. The RP 140 Coreloct would be my second choice.

I always shot the 140 Corelokt and had good accuracy from them.  I used them for the smallish deer we have here in central Louisiana, and to shoot crows out of the pasture.

The Hornaday Light Magnums are obviously the best, but I would view them as unnecessary for any whitetail or mule deer, no matter how large.  The 140 grain Remington Core-Lokts are extremely good, and will easily kill any deer of any size out to normal 7mm-08 ranges.   I would reserve buying the more expensive Light Magnums for shooting Elk, or for shooting deer at very long range (300 yards or more) which is extremely unlikely unless you are in a very specialized hunting environment.

  Just my thoughts.

I killed my best ever body wise and rack wise with a 120 NBT and some H335 last year at about 200 yards

On deer sized game, you can't beat the Core-Lokt.

Nothing wrong with Core-Lock's for sure, but, like last year, my doe was shot at 347 yards in southern Kansas. I was using m 270 WSM though. Year before, shot my 11 point 200lb buck at 30 yards using my 7-08 Savage with the Remingtons, but a lot of my shots are usually long around here, Kansas and Oklahoma wheat fields........so I like the flattest shooting ammo I can find........

Several years ago Remington had to retool their productionline for bullets due to years of wear. At that time they thinned the jackets on several CoreLokt bullets. Many folks had got into using the Ballistic Tips and other more frangible bullets and complained CoreLokts were too tough. The newer bullets with thinner jackets still work fine at 2900fps and less but driven faster and they aren't as tough as they once were. The .30 cal. 180gr round nose CoreLokt is as tough as it ever was.

I use 140 gr CoreLokts for my 7mm-08 and have good results.
