I feel for ya - There have been many questions on substitute primers - since they are hard to get any more. I could use a few more small pistol primers myself. :( Try some W296 or H110. They call for a magnum primer. Don't know about rifle magnum primers, so I would reduce the load a little, but do not over do it. They are hotter and have thicker cups than pistol primers, even the magnum variety. I think I would use a starting load of one of them (296, 110). Just load a few up and see how they do, velocity and pressure wise - and compare the velocity to what you get with your regular load. Use cation with those two powders that you do not reduce the powder too much or you could have hang fires (maybe not with msrp) or a condition that lets the pressure wave bounce back and then slam ahead, causing way too much pressure. One more thing - if you are shooting a handgun, you may not get a good dent in the primer, causing a no-fire; since they have a thicker cup. In a rifle, I do not think it would be a concern. Good Luck and Good Shooting

Try some 158's on top of a full charge of LilGun set off with the mag primers, works great out of a rifle.  DP
