Federal 4570 ammo

Federal powershok 300gr speer hotcor HP ammo, pushed at 1850 out of the muzzle.  I'm not a reloader so I must stick with factory ammo.

Does anyone have experience shooting this ammo out of their 4570 leverguns??

I can get it for a great price, and was looking at this to be a good paper punching round, and coyote round for the random dog I see while out scouting.  A cheap practice round basically.
I'm looking at shooting with iron sights, 100 yards, so I don't expect to put 3 shots in the end of a garden hose, but in the palm of my hand would be nice.  If I do my part, I'd like to know the round will do its part.

So that is why I come to you, many guys that own many of these marlin leverguns, I'd just like to know how this round performs, have there been any bad experiences.  Can't get 3 shots inside a beach ball type of thing.

Thats what I used before I started reloading. Never had an issue with them shot pigs and deer with them. got 1" groups out of a handi rifle at 100yards. Had some left when I got my 1895 shot them well didnt measure the groups but was good enough for open sights.

I clicked on a link to midway USA someone posted up on another thread, it had a couple reviews that were very good.

So if anyone knows of other sites that have reviews like these, feel free to post up some links, that could help me as well.  I've done some searching, looked at reports on the different Marlin 1895s as well to see how this round performed out of them. (if it was tested).

So, thanks to anyone with info, keep shoveling it at me.

If I didn't handload I would be very happy to use the Federal ammo.  That bullet, by the way, is a Uni-Cor, not a Hot-Cor.  I talked to someone at Federal about it and they agreed but guess they aren't going to change the literature.

I shoot a lot of that bullet in my Marlin 1895, all the way out to 300 yards.  In waterjug tests it expands very well and provides good penetration.

Now are you talking about the classic 1895 then, with the 22" barrel???

And thank you for the info, I appreciate it.  They made the fusion ammo in a 4570 as well, I'm talking to my brother to see if it is still produced, but the 2009 ammo catalog he gave me doesn't have fusion ammo at all in it.

He works at Federal, has for 15 years, his wife for 10 years, I must say it is a joy to use Federal ammo when I can because of the prices I can get from him. 

Not being a hunter or shooter himself, he doesn't know much about the ammo, just knows how to run all the machines, and fix them.  Rifles are also something I haven't really gotten into, so I try to research, read up, and ask stupid questions when I can't find the answer online, or need opinions.

Yup, the standard 22" model.  Wouldn't change a thing unless I was heading into the alder after brownie, in which case a Guide gun would be somewhat handier.

Fusion, for some reason, has a separate web site from Federal.  Never understood that.

No stupid questions if you don't know the answer.  Or so I hope as I have many more questions than answers...

That Federal ammo was the first factory ammo I ran through my 1895G along with some Leverevolution bullets.  I had good groups and now I am reloading the bulk Remington 300 grain bullets with IMR 3031 and they hit right where the Federals left off.
