Fixed Barrel 1911

I thought I read in a magazine a few years back that there was a company that was making a 1911 in 45 ACP with a fixed barrel. By this I mean a barrel that is fixed to the frame like my little Makarov handguns. I was wondering if anybody could tell me the name of this company. I can't seem to find the magazine that had the article.

Don't want a blow back operated .45. If you do, you could always buy a Hi Point.

I don't want a Hi Point as they are to clunky in the hands. I remember the article saying this was a very accurate 45. I like the concept and that is why I am trying to find out who made it. I figure you can never have enough different 45's. Thanks for the reply.

Blow back operated pistols require a lot of mass in the slide to operate. The mass of the slide and the recoil spring are all that's keeping the case in the chamber long enough for pressure to drop to a safe level before extraction begins.  Therefore, the heavy and massive (alloy?)slide on the Hi Point.

Hmmmm!  Saw the picture.  Might be interesting to run a side by side comparison of accuracy with different loadings in a typically accurized non-fixed barrel 1911.  And of course, the color scheme would make neu yawk mike happy..............

I wonder what calibers are offered?

I found the answer too my own question.
.45 is the only caliber listed.
It is $1500
Sig looks like a better deal unless you just gotta have a fixed barrel.
