Drivers will leave you laying
« on: July 29, 2009, 02:27:59 AM »
I have had 2 of my buds left in the ditch the last week by the drivers that put them there. One bud was on the way home from work as a paramedic near Lawton and a man pulled out from a stop sign and put him in the ditch. The driver slowed down and then drove off with my bro laying there. He was helped by a another driver who stopped. The jerk didn't even call for help just drove off. He has a cracked pelvis and  strained ligaments in his shoulder  Another was riding in OKC and was brushed by a car that was meeting him head on in the wrong lane knocking him into the car beside him causing him to go down. Crushing metal and sparks flying he and the bike spun off the road into a street sign. Neither vehicle stopped to help or check on him. what in the world He lost a lot of hide, but he has a crushed ankle that they may save but he will never walk right again either way.

Sorry to hear that, I hope they have a quick recovery.

They say motorcycles are dangerous when in reality it's the other people you have to worry about.

In the late 50's and early 60's the black guys in Dallas would come up behind someone on a motorcyle and nudge him and push him off the road. So the guy's on bike's begin to carry big rock's with them late at night . They would pitch a 4" rock up in the air and the car behind them would get it through the windshield.
The late night fun for the black guy's ended preety quick after a few wind shields got busted.  A friend of mine came up with the Idea since he worked a night shift, and the other guy's started carrying rocks also.  Digger

Kid at work brought in a clipping from the Ottowa paper last week. Seems a guy and his OL were riding through town, and a car ran a stop sign and got in front of him. He locked it up, laid it down, and He, OL, and bike all slid into and under the car. Knocked plenty of bark off all of them. Guess he must have been more pissed than hurt, as he got up and busted the driver of the car in the mouth, and now HE'S the one who's in trouble. Wonder how it's going to turn out.
    Just can't be too careful.

Ditto

I think that had there been a witness who was able to get a plate number, both of the drivers would have been charged with leaving the scene of an accident. A lot of people are going to do this for you if they would be present.

Both of the cages in OKC are guilty of lleaving the scene of a personal injury accident which is a felony. It is being investigated but I have not heard they were having any luck finding the other drivers. The other driver on Lawton was just as liable but there no evidence, my bud was not even sure what he was driving or who was driving it happened so quick.

Thats messed up. I got rearended last winter in my car, the other driver took off. I wasn't hurt, but I sure was pissed off! There are two spots on the freeways here that are dangerous, Both are where two two lane freeways merge together. Almost everytime I come up to the merge there is a driver in the right lane of the left hand freeway that does a no look lane change across two lanes to get into the right lane again.

I hope your bros are all right.

i learned this lesson last august when a scenario almost exactly like the second one you described happened to me.  2 cars were involved, and both left me for dead.   every other vehicle that went by after that stopped to help.
i caught the guy two weeks later, and long story short the guy got off scott free.  turns out it was a kid that lives down the road from my house.  i know who he is and where to find him.  he has nothing to lose, i have everything to lose.  i figured i would release my frustration and let God deal with him in His way.
hope your friends are alright and recover quickly.  be careful out there brothers.

The first weekend I owned the Yamaha, three weeks ago, I had a jerk change lanes in a traffic circle and clip my front tire.  Instantly putting me on the pavement.  No serious damage to the bike or me since we were going 15 MPH, but the driver looked in his rearview, making eye contact with me and then hit the gas.  I got up and chased him down the highway.  A traffic light stopped him, but when he saw me coming up behind the two cars behind him he blew through the red light.  I was not going to run a red light just to get his plate number.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.
